Balir Sheppard will play his 250th Senior game this weekend against Narre Warren.

Shep was a member of our last Senior premiership in 2011, one of only a handful still playing today. He also played in a Reserves flag in 2009 as well as an Under 18’s flag in 2006.

He was awarded life membership in 2018 after clocking up 200 games with the senior club, before hanging up the boots the year after.

Not lost to footy following his retirement, Shep has been with our Women’s footy team for the past few years, as a runner in their Premiership year in 2022, and currently as an Assistant Coach.

Shep’s hunger to play never dwindled and last year he saw the Reserves as an opportunity to pull the boots back on to help our young developing forwards. His elevation to the Ressies leadership group for this season is recognition for the impact he’s had on the young group since his return.

The results are clear to see - our forward line is looking the most dangerous it has in recent times, with Shep leading the comp goal kicking to boot! If our Ressies are to go one step further in 2024, Shep’s footy and leadership will be a huge factor.

All the best for the weekend Shep! A huge top-of-the-table clash with Narre Warren is a fitting way to celebrate the milestone .. hopefully with a W and few “Box Heads”.

A weekend with no local footy seems like the perfect time to launch this year’s 100’s CLUB DRAW, where one lucky ticket-holder will walk away with the huge $10,000 prize. The live draw is being held at the social rooms from 8pm on Saturday, July 27th.

Tickets are $100. This entitles its holder to unlimited beer, wine or soft drink (or half-priced spirits) for the duration of the draw, and there’ll be plenty of finger food throughout the night as well. 2nd place walks away with $1,500 and third gets $1,000.

Over the next week or so, we’ll be confirming numbers with last year’s ticket-holders (last year's numbers are pictured below).

There are some numbers up for sale straight up (in pink) - text Steve Gannell on 0404 829 714 to lock one in. If you’d like to confirm your number from last year, you can also do this by texting Steve.

Don't miss out on your chance to win BIG at what's always a great night at the Club!

Keenan “Crackers” Hinton runs out for game number 150 tomorrow, when our Seniors take on Mount Evelyn at home.

One of our homegrown stars, Crackers has been a mainstay of the Senior backline for the best part of a decade. With a powerful leg on him, the drive he provides off the half backline has been the origin of many a rebounding goal over the years, especially in the “intimate” environment of the Dome.

Great overhead and with a good turn of speed, Crackers has the versatility to look after the talls and the smalls of an opposition forward line. His leadership has blossomed over the years, seeing him feature in our Senior Leadership Group over the past few seasons.

Please join us in wishing Keenan luck in his 150th outing in the Yellow and Black!
